| The seminar on DRR Sensitive Housing Policy and Planning Standards is identified as a crucial need realized in the DRR Strategy of Ministry of Housing and Works (MoH&W). Although National Housing Policy and National Reference Manual for Planning Standards are the major instruments for the development of housing sector but they are due for review and amendments in the perspective of the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). It has also been reflected globally in Hugo Framework for Action (HFA) and in Pakistan since Earthquake 2005 to incorporate DRR in all such policies and regulatory instruments. Implementation of these instruments is also a big issue. |
